Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to travel somewhere to participate in the 8 week USG Training Experience?

Our 8 week USG Training Experience is a fully remote program which consists of virtual weekly prayer time and check-in’s. The Weekend Gathering at the end of the Training Experience will require you to travel. All travel and weekend expenses are covered in the $100 deposit.

What will my daily and weekly commitment look like through the Training Experience?

Your daily requirement will be to read a chapter in The Purpose Driven Life and answer devotional questions. These take around 30 minutes each day. Weekly “Call To Action's” which includes a Bible Quiz, strengths assessment, writing your testimony, an informal professional interview, a reflection essay, and participating in a discussion board. This can take between 30 minutes to an hour and a half.

Why is the Training Experience imperative to becoming a member?

We want to make sure that each of our members has the basic tools and understanding to live out their faith in the sport industry. Through completing the training experience you will be prepared to connect your faith with your professional and personal life.

Once I'm a member, what does that mean?

As a member of USG, you will have access to our growing list of resources. This includes: - Our USG Connect App (similar to a Facebook or Linkedin specifically for Christian sport industry professionals) - Fully-funded international and domestic missions trips - Fully-funded conferences & events - Book/Bible studies - Professional development resources (resume reviews, mock interviews, informational interviews, etc.) Check out our membership page here!

Once I'm a member, is there anything I have to do to keep my membership status? Do I ever have to renew my membership?

Once you are a member there are no fees or requirements to keep your membership status year to year. To best serve you and our network we would encourage continued participation and involvement. When offering our fully-funded resources, we look to offer these resources for members that are still working or desire to work in the sport industry, as well!

What if one set of dates works for the Training Experience works best for me but I am unable to attend the Weekend Gathering? Can I still receive membership?

We are accommodating in situations like this! We encourage you to apply for your preferred Training Experience/Team. One of our Leadership Coaches will be in touch with you after your application is submitted and will be able to share the different ways you can complete your membership if a situation like this applies to you.

What is Clean Out For A Cause?

Clean Out For A Cause (COFAC) is the primary funding source for USG. Hundreds of college and professional sport teams donate their used and excess gear to our warehouse. We then process these donations and sell them on our ecommerce store, Authentic Athletic Apparel. 100% of the profits are then used for our ministry.

Is there a difference between Managers On A Mission and USG?

There is only one key difference between Managers On A Mission and USG! We previously made our mission trips the passage way for becoming a member. However, USG's passage way for becoming a member is our USG Training Experience. Why? We realized that not everyone can complete a 2-4 week mission trip and we wanted to make sure more young sport industry professionals had access to our opportunities and resources.

What age range normally participates in the Training Experience?

We focus primarily on college students and young professionals that range between 18 and 28 years old. If you are older and want to be involved, please reach out! We have ambassador roles for those that are more etablished in their career.
