Developing Christ-centered leaders of the sport industry

Hello! We are so glad you are here :)

At Uncommon Sports Group, we love Jesus and are passionate about sports. As sports have grown rapidly into one of the largest industries in the world it has also grown more secular. We are dedicated to developing Christ-centered leaders in the sport industry. A career in the sport industry can be filled with unique pressure and temptations. At Uncommon Sports Group, we provide faith-based training, resources, and relationships that develop leaders to successfully navigate these challenges.

We know that you want to be a successful leader in the sport industry
We understand the unique challenges, temptations, and pressures that you’ll face along the way
We believe that you shouldn’t have to compromise your values to obtain success throughout your career
We are committed to walking alongside you and hundreds of other future sport leaders by providing faith-based training, resources, and relationships

Our organization was founded by former student manager Drew Boe. In 2012 Drew participated in his first overseas mission trip to Rwanda. Drew was able to fully fund his trip through selling old gear from his time with the University of Minnesota, Arizona Cardinals, San Diego (now Los Angeles) Chargers, and Virginia Tech. As a graduate student at Virginia Tech, Drew began discussing and building a framework to take this idea and make it into a non-profit organization. With the help of some professors and mentors, his vision came to life. The three weeks in Rwanda allowed Drew to experience firsthand the transformation power of a mission trip, leading to the creation of the “Development thru Service” motto which we are founded on today. Through this vision and motto Managers On A Mission (MOAM) was founded in 2013.

Since then, our ministry has invested over $500,000 into the professional and spiritual development of equipment managers and other future leaders of the sport industry. This funding has come through the donations of more than 200,000 pounds of sport apparel and equipment through our Clean Out For A Cause program. We’ve had over 150 students participate in our domestic and international mission trips, impact weekends, training experience, and scholarship!

With the rapid growth of the organization and an organic growth of members involved in a wider demographic of sports industry professions, MOAM transitioned into our new brand: Uncommon Sports Group.

The opportunities we provide our members range from our training experience (professional and spiritual development), opportunities and events, mission trips, scholarship and relief, along with free resources.

These resources include:
Access to our staff for professional and spiritual development: sport and spiritual events and conferences, resume reviews, mock interviews, networking, book studies
Access to our member only app: live feed, interactive member map, sign up for events and conferences, job alerts, workshops and more!
Mission trips: overseas mission trips which include; sports ministry, sports camps, coaches training, community service projects, Church, cultural experiences, and more!
